Post 1: Explore page and finding new music

My name is Josh and I’m a fourth year communications student. Growing up I have always loved music and I remember at a young age always asking my parents to turn up the radio so I could listen to whatever song was on. As I got a little older I was able to really find what type of music I like and I feel that my current music taste has grown from there. I think back to the music I started liking by myself at a young age and it makes sense to me why I like the music I do today. As I got older I also got much more interested in the production process and everything that goes into music or an album being made. With that being said, I feel like I am always looking for new music or new artists to listen to. The digital media I chose is the home/explore page of Apple Music. I often use this page to see what new music is coming out or has come out, and I also use it to find new songs I haven’t heard from artists I like or similar artists I may not have heard about yet. I feel that it does a good job recommending songs and artists that I would like and I have found a good amount of new music that I enjoy while looking through it. I have attached some screen shots of the page but it has many different sections that aren’t visible in the pictures. The reason I took this class is because, as mentioned earlier, I have a big interest in music and music production and I wanted to learn more about how technology has shaped the way it's created, shared, and experienced.
